Mare with Brown Recluse Spider Bite

Big is my mare who was bitten by a brown recluse spider. I was so grateful to have had the System Saver paste on hand, it certainly did right by Big.  Normally, getting the leg back down to the size it is now would have taken weeks, not to mention stopping the filling dead in it's tracks to begin with.  Here are the pictures I took from 3/3/10-3/7/10.

On the evening of 3/3/10 the mare was given 2 bute and 30 cc of system saver.  3/4/10  24 hours later 30 cc SS and 2 bute (SS given in am bute in PM).  3/5/10  2 bute.  The mare's daily dose of SS has been upped to two scoops per day. 

 

3/3/10 filling occurred to the size of a basketball in 12 hours.                                                                              3/4/10  after 12 hours with SS on board

Normally getting the leg back to this size would take weeks, SS stopped the filling in it's track and has reduced the filling in the leg to the mares "normal". Simply amazing. Thanks!!
